Kohl Children?s Museum of Greater Chicago

Kohl Children’s Museum of Greater Chicago is the only museum in the Chicago area that exclusively provides exhibits and programming for ages birth to 8. All 16 permanent exhibits are hands-on and interactive. Shop in the child-sized Dominick’s grocery store, find your way through the Discovery Maze, cure stuffed animals in the Pet Vet, make sandwiches in the play Potbelly Cafe, dance and sing in Music Makers, and make a splash in Water Works. They also offer four baby play areas for infants and crawlers. Habitat Park is a secure outdoor exhibit area with a sculpture trail and underground tunnel. 

Hours: Mondays, 9:30 am–12:00 pm (Open until 5:00 pm;
June through August and on school holidays);
Tuesday–Saturday, 9:30 am–5:00 pm; Sunday, 12:00 pm–5:00 pm

Closed: New Year’s Day, July 4, Week of Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. All holidays are subject to change without notice.

By bus: Pace Bus #423 serves the Museum. Catch the bus at Blue line Harlem station or Purple line Linden Station. Museum also served by Metra North Glenview station (walk 1/2 mile west on West Lake Ave.)

By car: Take Route 94 West to Lake Avenue West exit. Drive three miles, then turn right on Patriot Boulevard, and drive one mile. Museum is at corner of Patriot and West Lake Avenue. Free parking available on site.
